Hello! I'm Anna. I am the owner and designer for Palooka! Baby Apparel. Here’s a little about me and how this business began:
I am in a SERIOUS relationship with fabric. I can't keep my hands off it. This is where my passion for fashion and clothing grew. I decided about a year ago that I was going to stop dragging my feet and finally do what I was born to do; create things for other people. I used to take every spare ounce of energy that I had and would spend it crafting, the problem was I hadn’t yet found my niche in the crafting world.
What was I passionate enough for that I could focus all my energy towards and not get burned out on? And then it happened...my best friend got pregnant. I was always unsure of what I really thought about babies until I met little Teagan. She was the most beautiful, precious lil' nubber anyone could ever ask for! I was hooked. From then on I couldn't look at a baby without feeling that same connection I had with lil’ "Tea."
I went out to find some baby clothes as a gift for the newborn. I wasn’t really thrilled about anything I saw. Not many options for babies besides light blue, pink, or yellow. I was then aware that I would have to create a clothing line for Teagan. Heck, I needed to come up with a clothing line for ALL those cute little nubber bubbers!
My goal was to create clothes that were high quality and very different from what I was seeing everywhere. I wanted to give parents more options to choose from besides the plain pastels and frilly froo-froo’s.
I created my Palooka! Baby Apparel line for those of you who like your baby to express their TRUE COLORS. Palookas are bold, bright, and fun!
Your baby should have a unique style just like you do. Who said babies are only allowed to wear light pink and blue? Babies are AMAZING lil' nubbers! They should wear clothes that are just as unique and special as they are! Palooka clothing allows your baby to have a voice and a little bit of an attitude.
My designs have a combination of influences of trendy Japanese colors and shapes, American cartoons, European simplicity, Hip-Hop and Urban style character, and an edgy dose of my own funky flair and quirkiness.
With all this combined, I am striving to create the most unique and trend-setting clothing line for your little ones.
I have 12 original animal characters which all feature my marking of one big eye, one lil' eye and a pink tongue. Each character is equally adorable and unequally alike. Pick one or a few that you think your baby is the most similar to and have fun picking out unique outfits. My clothing is meant to be mixed and matched.
